By maintaining an exact real-time or near real-time replica of all production applications, data and system objects, OMS/ODS ensures that a ready-to-run backup server is always available to take over operations if required. Users can be switched to this backup quickly. In addition, OMS/ODS can, at your option, monitor the availability of the production system from the backup system and automatically initiate a failover when necessary.
